The Influence of a Life

I’m reflecting on the lives that have influenced me most. Close relatives, friends, teachers, historical figures—all the people who held qualities that I admired, and through whom those qualities seemed to minister to me. I am so grateful for my influences, and am able to appreciate the way that God has ordered my steps and enabled me to have had divine connections with people.

I’m thinking about the lives that I have been able to touch through ministry…both directly and indirectly. Whether it was through preaching, teaching, mentoring, coordinating, managing…or simply just being with people….each relationship bore some significance. Ministry happens through relationships. As I think about the people who impacted my life, both knowingly and unknowingly, I begin to desire to plant such rich seeds of influence.
